Playgroup Membership – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Old Cottage Playgroup! By registering and participating in Old Cottage Playgroup, families and carers agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These are in place to ensure a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for all children and adults.

1. Membership

Playgroup membership is annual and valid for the current calendar year. Membership is required for all families attending sessions.

2. Fees & Payment

  • To attend sessions and use playgroup facilities, all members must have a current, paid membership.

  • Early bird or discounted rates apply only if payment is received by the advertised date.

  • Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

3. Supervision & Responsibility

  • Children remain the responsibility of their parent, carer or guardian at all times during playgroup sessions and organised activities.

  • A supervision ratio of one (1) adult to a maximum of three (3) children must be maintained.

  • If you are caring for more than three children, an additional registered adult must attend with you.

  • Old Cottage Playgroup membership is for children aged 0–5 years.

4. Health & Illness

  • Please do not attend playgroup if you or your child are unwell or showing symptoms of illness.

  • This helps keep all families and volunteers safe.

5. Cleaning & Care of the Facility

  • Playgroup is a shared space and cleaning is a group effort.

  • All members are responsible for helping to clean and tidy the playgroup before leaving each session.

  • This includes packing away toys, returning furniture, emptying bins, and vacuuming or mopping where required.

  • Please leave the facility as you would like to find it.

Your help ensures the space remains safe, welcoming, and available for ongoing use.

6. New Families

  • New families join our playgroup regularly and may be invited to attend your session time. We appreciate your support in helping them feel welcome.

7. Changes to Sessions or Membership

The playgroup committee reserves the right to:

  • Cancel or change sessions if required

  • Update policies, fees, or Terms & Conditions as needed

Members will be notified of any significant changes.

8. Privacy & Contact Details 

  • Your name and contact number may be provided to your nominated session leader for communication and safety purposes only.

9. Acceptance of Terms

By registering and attending Old Cottage Playgroup, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions.
